We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated full-time elderly caregiver to provide exceptional care for my mom, starting as soon as possible. The position requires availability from Monday to Friday and 40 hours a week, to ensure reliable support and assistance.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Supervise, care for, and assist with my mom’s basic daily needs in a compassionate and respectful manner.
• Assist with bathing, toileting, and dressing to ensure her personal hygiene and comfort.
• Prepare and cook nutritious and delicious meals throughout the day, taking into consideration any dietary restrictions or preferences.
• Monitor and assist with medication administration, ensuring timely and accurate dosage.
• Provide companionship and engage in meaningful conversations and activities to keep my mom mentally and emotionally stimulated throughout the day.
• Perform light housekeeping duties, such as laundry, folding clothes, dishes, vacuuming, mopping the floor, and making beds, when time permits.
Required Skills:
• Prior experience in elderly caregiving or a related field is highly desirable.
• Good communication skills and the ability to build a trusting and comforting relationship with my mom.
• Sensitivity to the needs and challenges of the elderly population.
• Ability to anticipate and prioritize tasks, ensuring the well-being and safety of my mom at all times.
• Flexibility and adaptability to accommodate changing needs and schedules.
• Valid CPR and First Aid certifications are a plus.
Employment requirements
• Some secondary school education is usually required.
• Home management experience may be required.
• College or other courses in home support may be required.
• First aid certification may be required.
• Completion of a training program in care of the elderly, care of persons with disabilities, convalescent care or in a related field may be required.
