Bayview Wildwood Resort (Severn Bridge, ON) is looking for an experienced Cook to join their culinary team. If cooking is your passion, we offer the opportunity for growth and development and to work with some extremely talented chefs.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
2ND Cooks may perform some or all the following duties:
• Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods
• Prepare and cook special meals for patients as instructed by a dietitian or chef
• Schedule and supervise kitchen helpers
• Oversee kitchen operations
• In the absence of the 1st Cook, the Second Cook will take over his/her duties.
• Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment
• May set up and oversee buffets
• May clean kitchen and work area
• May plan menus, determine the size of food portions, estimate food requirements and costs, and monitor and order supplies
• May train kitchen staff.
• Cooks may specialize in preparing and cooking ethnic cuisine or special dishes.
Cook Qualifications
• Effectively communicate both verbally & in writing
• Graduate from a culinary school as an asset
• Minimum work experience in the kitchen of at least 1+ years
• Thorough knowledge of usage of kitchen equipment
• Professional culinary technical skills
• European cuisine experience – preferably Italian cuisine an asset
• Has experience in either – Saucier or Enter métier or Pasta or Garde manger
• Pasta making skills
• Able to work in a busy environment either in banquets or on the line in an ala carte restaurant
Wage: $16.90/hr
Job Types: Full-time
Full-time hours: 30-48 hours, depending on the demand
Work holidays and weekends when needed
