Job Description:
Binh Minh Mai Inc. requires three Vietnamese cuisine cooks to prepare Vietnamese style foods, supervise other staff, and oversee kitchen operations.
Main responsibilities will include:
• Preparing, seasoning, and cooking a wide range of soups, rice, foods, primarily Vietnamese cuisine
• Cooking, roasting, grilling, boiling, and frying vegetables, meats, and other foods
• Prepare and cook food in keeping with recipes, quality, and presentation standards of Binh Minh Mai
• Supply assigned work area with all required products
• In depth knowledge of hygiene, hand washing, and safety codes
• Follow standardized recipes to ensure smooth customer service and keep the work area clean
• Inspect food preparation and serving areas to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices
• Season and cook food according to recipes and experience
• Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes
• Portion, arrange, garnish food, cook and serve food to waiters/customers
• Substitute for or assist other cooks during emergencies or rush periods
• Roast, broil, and steam meats, vegetables, and other foods
• Prepare and cook complete meals as per menu
• Schedule and supervise kitchen helpers
• Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment
• May clean kitchen and work area
• May determine size of food portions, estimate food requirements, and monitor and order supplies
• May train kitchen staff
Working Conditions:
Those associated with working in a commercial kitchen, such as:
• Handling raw meat and poultry
• Performing repetitive manual tasks
• Excessive standing
• Lifting or carrying heavy trays
• Working in extreme temperatures
• Working with knives, mincers, and other dangerous tools or equipment
