Job Description

The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) is responsible for regulating the alcohol, gaming, horse racing and private cannabis retail sectors in Ontario, in accordance with the principles of honesty and integrity, and in the public interest.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Organizational Development, the Organizational Development Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Organizational Development (OD) team members and administering OD programs and services, including learning and development policy and process, producing training sessions or supporting OD meetings, conducting new hire orientation and welcome events, administering the recognition programs, producing reports and compiling information.

In this role, the successful candidate will:

·         Respond to general inquiries with respect to all learning and development.

·         Review learning, training and continuing education requests from staff and managers, ensure completion of information and process requests as per policies.

·         Administer established OD Programs with clear parameters and instructions – i.e., recognition program, job shadowing program, Take Your Kids to Work, etc.

·         Organize, coordinate and facilitate new employee orientation, welcome events and all other required training.

·         Draft communication regarding learning and development opportunities for staff and management.

·         Manage the New Employee Survey, analyze and compile results into a report and presentations, as well as identify action items based on needs and gaps analysis.

·         Coordinate and present training of new AGCO initiatives and projects, as needed.

·         Work with the OD team and business units to schedule training, track attendance and generate certificates.

·         Maintain and update content in the Learning Management System and ensure content is up to date and accurate.

·         Maintain training recordkeeping and ensure mandatory (legislative and AGCO) training is completed.

·         Make all arrangements for room bookings, and A/V and technological requirements needed for each training session.

·         Coordinate department meetings by preparing agenda, inviting attendees, compiling information packages, drafting and distributing minutes, and setting up and coordinating catering.

·         Process invoices requiring payment (make electronic record and submit to A/P) and maintain all HR electronic files.

The ideal candidate will have:

·         Post-secondary education in Organizational Development, Organizational Psychology, Adult Education, Human Resources, or a related field.

·         A minimum of 2 years of related work experience.

·         Experience in facilitating group meetings and administering a corporate-level program.

·         Experience in working in a unionized environment, preferred.

·         Knowledge of change management principles and methodologies.

·         Experience in writing reports and drafting presentations.

·         Sound professional judgment, diplomacy and relationship-building skills.

·         Superior organizational skills with demonstrated ability to set priorities, meet and manage multiple and conflicting deadlines and work under pressure.

·         Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to facilitate information gathering, advise individuals of decisions or action, and formulate correspondence.

·         High level of discretion and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality.

·         Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Visio).
