Job Description

Supervisory Responsibilities Include but not limited to:

-Supervise the development and compliance of all policies and procedures as needed.
-Develop and implement training schedule, equipment repair and store strategies to ensure the shop operates efficiently
-Ensure customer issues are managed appropriately.
-Supervise shop staff, including hiring, scheduling, training, and performance reviews.
-Monitor and maintain quality control systems, including equipment maintenance productivity and staff efficiency
-Participate in events coordination
-Interviewing and hiring staff
-Developing, maintaining and creating new tours
-Developing training plans in the offseason to provide adequate training for staff in the Spring.
Tour Guide Responsibilities:

-Leading clients on Water Sports Tour Excursions
-Teaching clients from beginner to advanced levels on certain water sports
-Fitting clients with safety equipment
-Monitoring all safety regulations and practices
-Narrating during the tour of all historical, interesting and relevant facts
-Terms of Employment: Full-Time

Language of Work: English

Wage: $21.25 per hour

Skills Requirements:

Certifications:

-Paddle Canada Stand up Paddle Instructors certification
-Paddle Canada level 1 skill Sea Kayak certification or equivalent
-80 hr first aid (OFA level 3 or wilderness first responder)
Required Work Experience:

-1-2  seasons of tour guiding experience or equivalent relevant experience
-1 season of experience managing people

-Passionate about showcasing Vancouver’s beauties and landscape to tourists/locals alike
-Maintain an understanding of safety regulation importance
-Self-motivated, competent, confident and empathetic
-Ability to work collaboratively and communicate with other employees, customers, and the general public
Required Qualifications:

-Strong organizational skills and ability to delegate and prioritize while managing multiple projects simultaneously
-Commitment to open and direct communication
-Demonstrated understanding of financial responsibility
